This private Tobermory Lake is about 45 acres (18ha) with a small half acre (0.2ha) island in the middle. It is surrounded by the land and has no public access. The Tobermory Lake is fed by one main creek, McKechnie Creek, and another minor one which flows out to the Rocky Saugeen River. Numerous bottom springs also feed the lake which varies in depth from 2ft (0.5m) to 27ft (9m). Speckled trout, an abundance of bass and perch inhabit the fresh clean water and there are frequent visitors of Canada geese, ducks, and loons, some of which nest and raise their young. Swimming, canoeing and fishing are summer activities and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing can be enjoyed in the winter.
